Even though the opposition have not been world-class, recent results have set alarm bells ringing.
The number of goals conceded is extremely out of character. This 'Azulgranas' have conceded an average of two goals per game, much more than in recent pre-seasons and a far cry from the 0.55 goals per game they conceded in the league last season.
Luis Enrique takes these sorts of stats very seriously. The mistakes are mainly being made in the air or at set pieces, two areas of the game they had very much under control last season.
It is probably down to the absences of two first-choice defenders: Mascherano and Dani Alves, who are both scheduled to return for the Joan Gamper Trophy against Roma.
